MeraHaq ("we", "us", "our") is a free, independent informational website at merahaq.in. We help Indian citizens find government schemes, understand their legal rights, access helplines, and generate RTI letters.

MeraHaq is not affiliated with any government body, political party, or commercial organisation.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or process any of the following:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or Aadhaar number
• Your location or IP address
• Your browsing history or behaviour on this site
• Any information you enter in the Scheme Finder or RTI Tool (it runs entirely in your browser)
• Device identifiers or fingerprints

The Scheme Finder and RTI Letter Tool work entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is ever sent to our servers.

3. Contact Form

If you use the Contact form on our website, the following information is sent to us via Telegram (our messaging service):

• The topic you selected
• Your name (optional — you can stay anonymous)
• Your message
• Your contact handle (optional — only if you choose to provide it)

This information is used only to respond to your message. We do not share it with any third party, and we do not store it in any database.

4. Cookies & Analytics

MeraHaq uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are most visited and how long people stay. Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data. No personally identifiable information is collected. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use advertising cookies, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking beyond Google Analytics.

The only other external service loaded is Google Fonts (for typography). Google Fonts may log requests subject to Google's privacy policy.

5. Advertising

MeraHaq may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

We do not control the content of ads served by Google AdSense. All ads are subject to Google's advertising policies.

6. Third-Party Links

MeraHaq links to official Government of India websites (e.g. pmjay.gov.in, nalsa.gov.in, rtionline.gov.in). When you click these links, you leave our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites.

We only link to verified official .gov.in, .nic.in, or .org.in government domains.

7. Children's Privacy

MeraHaq does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The site contains only informational public content about government schemes and rights. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our contact form, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

8. Data Security

Since we do not collect or store personal data, there is no personal data at risk. The contact form uses server-side processing via Vercel serverless functions, and messages are delivered directly to our Telegram — no database is involved.

9. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you used the contact form and wish to have your message deleted, please contact us through our Contact page and we will delete it immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
